Urbanista "Funkify" Sneak Peak

Information
This weekend, my dad ( who is one of the most important and influential person I know ) flew from UK to Dubai to spend Eid with us :) and lucky for me his suitcase was filled with a lot of goodies such as

• CDs : Rita Ora and Trey Songz
• Clothes : Jelly and Cream top and canary yellow pleated maxi skirt
• Shoes multi print converse "Funkify
And more :)

Funkify Converses
Here is how I transformed my new plain white with multi print converses to my own print trainers

The Original Coverses

When I first saw these shoes, I had to buy them because of the clashing prints they had and I thought to myself , I should make them more unique my adding my signature Urbanista Doodle

Transformation

Using Sharpies Markers I litterally just free handedly drew the shapes from one of my art works on to the shoe

Urbanista : Funkify 2012/13 Sneak peak

FUNKIFY Information 
As part of one my fashion design projects from last year, I designed a mini collection inspired by Abstract Art ( which is one of my favorite art movements) so I looked at artists such as

• Pablo Picasso and Bruce Gray

What inspired me to design this collection is I love Bright,Clashing prints because it make me feel young and different compared to every one else, ( this is why I decided to call the collection "FUNKIFY"

It wasn't until recently in class , I decided to make one of the outfits from the collection and add a unique twist by customizing a pair of converse.

So heres a sneak peak of what i'm going to be achieving (make sure you keep checking my blog to see my progress)

My 1st Funkify Design

With this design, its a royal blue jumpsuit, made from a light cotton with some pleated and paint splatted print manipulation ( as shown bellow)

As for accessories , I want to keep the colour blocking effect, so I would wear it with a canary yellow top and custom designed Schuh Coverses.

My 19th Birthday

Information
I'm sorry I haven't been able to blog that much , I've been so busy since university started again. Officially made it 3rd YEAR guys !!!

Anyways yesterday was my 19th birthday and unfortunately I had a university day :( but to make myself feel good , I brought in mini cupcakes from Magnolias Bakery in Dubai mall and decided to share them with my friends and teachers at university :)

As for birthday gifts , I am very fortunate to be around some amazing people so I got a lovely bracelet from Hanan Nader from H.N.A Jewels



My friends at University surprised me with a lovely charm bracelet from Thomas Sabo




And to top it off I got to go to Jamie Oliver's Italian Restaurant and had a lovely dinner and they surprised me with a brownie an ice cream with

But the best gift is yet to come, I just ordered some amazing converses :)
