Different Sides of Me

Monday 17 April 2017

As a creative, so many things can influence you at anytime and its up you to figure out how to portray it.  For example, I recently wrote a poem called  Different Sides of Me , which explains all the different sides of me; urban, glamourous..etc and I wanted to show it in a graphical way.

Get My Curls Back! (Collaboration)

Since I have started my curly hair journey, I have happier than I have ever been in my life, due to new found my self confidence and not caring what anyone thinks. This mindset has allowed me to create more meaningful artworks and to connect with people, who can help me grow as a creative.

One particular person, who has helped me is UK Curly Girl aka Shannon Fitzsimmons. Her YouTube channel  helped with sourcing out the right products that suit my hair type and introduce me to different hairstyles as well.
So, when she announced that she was writing a book about curly hair and wanted people to share their stories, I jumped right on it and wanted to share mine, even though I am still exploring on my hair journey.

With countless email and updated on her book progress, I am happy to say that her eBook  is finally available on Amazon.

She is also having a book launch on  Sunday 14th  May  at  3Thirty Salon 7-9pm.
Make sure to you attend and support her on her new book.

Thank you Shannon for allowing me to share my curly hair story ! Xx

My dinner date with The Sudanese Kitchen

Monday 10 April 2017

Last night I attended my cousin's POP UP event  in Hoxton which was promoting his cookbook called  Sudanese Kitchen.
( Please note  that it will be released soon and I can't wait to share it with you all.)

This project has been in the works for the past few years and I'm proud to be an ambassador and support my cousin with it. I have seen him collect recipes from various family members from all over Sudan and  even research more about the culture and educate us about it. I feel it is important to be connected with your roots and discover where you come from and with this project, I have never felt more close to my heritage and I'm proud to be Sudanese.

Although the country isn't developing as well as it should, I am proud of the sense of community my culture brings and that I am able to share that with the people I care about and show them how much love we have for one another.

With all that in mind,  here are the pictures from my dinner date with The Sudanese Kitchen.
